Wow, what a night of meeting truly motivated outstanding individuals.
If you feel like you have not done anything with your life, this definately was the event to prove just that! lol Basically the Houston Junior Chamber selects 5 individuals out of Houston. I don't think you are comprehending this...there are
5 MILLION people in Houston and only
5 are OUTSTANDING individuals. This means they came through by doing community projects and just being involved with
everyday people. I have included the back of the invitation which I created for the event. After the awards ceremony I was able to speak with
Ben Mendez (hahha go for the mexican right?) who is actually part of a huge hispanic network for young professionals.
He was very impressed with my work and has offered that I join his organization!! How cool is that right? If you have not figured it out..
networking is the key to success. I don't care how much you know..it truly is about who you know and what you can do for them and vice versa. So my friends, I am going to take full advantage of this situation. The event was a major success and being among Houston city councilmen and the Houston Mayor just made one feel as though they play an important role in this city's advancement. It's been a long time since I have volunteered for anything in the community and I really believe I need that -
not to win awards - yet I think it helps keep a person grounded and focused. One person out of these outstanding 5 will move on to the next round until the very last awards which is the top 5 outstanding individuals in the
world! can you believe that?
wow. definately an honor.
