By the Way...

Sorry I did not post anything for the holidays. I hope you guys had a Merry Christmas and got everything you wished for =) Holidays haven't been the same at my house for a while (here goes the violin) yah... instead i probably should go to confessional since i was gambling at the time.... lol..... my christmas gift this year.... a six pack of corona light lol
Cheers and spiked eggnog all around!

Busted

oops. hahahhahha hmmm ok i would blame the size of my car but according to that camera shot there.... i would say i pretty much screwed myself over. Daamn, $75 down the drain. I'll take donations... yah u reading this...send me $1. So if you never seen one of these...this is what happens when you run our red light system here in Houston. Of course I took off all the main info ...stalkers beware.
Here is my conspiracy theory... the city made the yellow light change to red alot faster ..thus in turn helping the camera company catch you... which makes the company look as if their services are needed....thus the demand for more cameras..so they make money, the city makes money, and you believe u are in a city where the officials actually care. A penny for your thoughts..... (go ahead and send that to me too. lol)

Look what i won!!!

I won a PS3!!! yay!! well not really won...it was an auction on 94.5 da buzz and i guess no one really listens to the radio station....but i was the only one who bidded on it and won. I got it for retail price $599 and I knew Ernie wanted it. It was an auction for charity - toys for tots - so it was a good cause. Ernie, Cheryl, and I went three ways on it...and Ernie gets to keep it since Cheryl and I have REAL jobs hahahhahah but its all good as long as i get to play!!!

Rocky VI

"It's not about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit. And keep moving forward. Keep moving forward."
Awww.... man this was a breath-taking movie which took you back to the beginning and ended the Rocky saga with class. Sylvester Stallone looks great, I couldn't believe it. The second he puts on that black hat, the black jacket, and his finger gloves....its like an old nostalgic feeling from day one. You're like "man that's rocky right there". And those of you who fell in love with Adrian like he did... you will cry in this movie.... a definate definate must see. Don't wait to rent this..if you are like me and seen every rocky movie in the theaters...u have to let this one be the closer. Stallone still has it...every bit of Rocky comes through on this and his directing on this movie and the graphics...i couldn't imagine it being done any other way.

At the Ranch

So Saturday..... after getting home and going to sleep at 6:30am from Friday Night.... we were dragged out of bed by my mom to go meet her at the Ranch. Ernie and I took Louie to the Rocket Store first because apparently during my drunken moments I had promised his best friend we would get him Yao souvenirs. No more drinking allowed. lol. which..by the way before we rolled up to the club LA was losing to the Rockets which I was loving and I told Louie we would celebrate by going to Yao's restaurant hahhaha he hates the Rockets. So saturday morning we ended up buying a Yao banner and rockets shotglass from the Toyota Center's Rocket Store. (and houston did end up losing in double overtime.) Afterwards we headed out to the ranch for some really country BBQ and to prove to Louie that Texas still is country after Friday's Night life. =) Here he is shooting at the birds with Richards 12 gauge..... he didn't shoot anything but Ernie got that dead bird in the pic lol mean.

Afterwards.....we had to do it again..... lol and Louie was loving it.... we went out to XO in midtown and saw alot of old skool peeps like BJ, Pankaj and Reza. I didn't bust out with my camera as much cuz we too such ugly drunken pics the night before!! hahhahah Again...stories on the hush....... lol

Friday in Houston, Texas....

Louie, Ernie, and I had lunch at Fogo de Chao right here on Westheimer and Dunvale. None of us had ever eaten here before and I heard it was pricey but honestly during their lunch hour from 11-2pm... its about $35 a plate in comparison to $50 at dinner... It reminded me alot of the meat and cooking style back in Chile. Very tender and slow cooked meat.... a must for protein lovers. They also give you sides such as mash potato, biscuits and veggies. Louie was all about this place since he is trying to gain weight...so what da hell i was doing there i dunno. lol.
Be careful with your "green" coaster. It means you want to be served meat and they come to your table nonstop showing you all the meat until you put it on red! Great stuff... if u haven't been i'd say its worth the money =)

Then we hit up the Galleria to go buy him a nice dress shirt for the party later that night. I found him a really nice Banana Republic shirt which he looked supa cute in thanks to me! hahhahah we also took this pic of the famous Christmas tree Galleria is known for every year. Nicely decorated as usual.

lol then the ridiculous turn out at Suede Lounge Friday Night.... Ernie said it best "Man, when I arrived you guys were already falling all over each other!" hahhah and he got there at 11:30 lolz. fun times...afterwards we all hit up a Taqueria and killed our stomachs with Mexican food and dispersed...some to bed...some to hooka... lol

"Are you going to dee extrabaganza?!"

Took my cousin Louie out yesterday to visit the Improv.... the headliner was Jo Koy... u guys probably seen his video on my myspace page.... freakin hilarious he is.... he spotted our table real quick and the filipino jokes came rollin out! hahhhah He is here until Sunday so i highly recommend you go check him out at the Improv in the Marquee Center! We were all like "ssssst! hoy!!" to have him come take this pic with us. It's tight how he went around thanking all those who came out.. not many comics do that =) Hooray por Orange Chicken!!! lol

He's Baaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!

Uh-oh.......Supastar!!
I get to keep Zero! My friend let me have him after I was sooo attached from babysitting him. He is the most well-behaved dog and house broken... who can ask for more? I call him core master cuz he sits on the console of my car and with my crazy ass driving he tends to keep his balance. Freakin bobble-head. lol.
So i don't really like the name Zero...do you think he will answer if i call him Hero or Nemo or something that sounds like Zero......

Bond.. James Bond

My first Bond movie ever.
I know I know... i just never watched one...sorry.... and this was an action-packed film...really liked it. The opening scene is intense..not going to blow it for those of you who haven't scene it yet I recommend it. Wow talk about the new Bond being in shape for his age!! I appreciate those scenes and those angles hahah

I love it when a movie can take Romance, Action, Humor and Mystery then greatly intertwined them to capture the audience! Two thumbs up!

This Day In History..

* Put your mouse over the pictures for descriptions and you can also click to enlarge.

"Yesterday, December 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - The United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan...As Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense...With confidence in our armed forces - with the unbounded determination of our people - we will gain the inevitable triumph - so help us God."

President F.D. Roosevelt - 8th December 1941

I have been wanting to make the post since the day I came back from Hawaii. What better way to do it than on the actual day 65 years ago. I gained knowledge ....more knowledge about Pearl Harbor by visiting the memorial instead of hearing about it in school. I was honestly shocked because I just did not know half of what was told to me. My basic idea was the Japs came and bombed Pearl Harbor and that started World War II. That's it.

I hope you truly take the time to read this blog and look at the pictures I took.
Did you know the memorial is built on top of the actual battleship called the U.S.S Arizona and inside there are over 900 Men, Women and Children...dead bodies floating in that ship which could not be recovered?? (All the rust you see in the pictures is the actual ship itself below the water.) It is a living memorial. Still until this day...oil seeps out of the ship below sea and you see it rise to the surface and you can smell it too (as in the pics). They say it is the tears of those below. I honestly had chills standing inside the memorial. If you notice the memorial (white building) it is in a bowed shape...the middle part bows down to represent the downfall and suffering and the two rised ends represent our nation before and after the attacks...always strong and moving forward. Now that I have visited the site.... speechless.... I mean not to compare to 9/11 yet I think this threw most people out of their daily rituals.

December 7, 1941 the day began routinely...Sailors and Marines turned out for church services, chores, and chow. They looked forward to off-duty time for recreation, letter-writing, or sleep. The Navy had been preparing for war - but never a massive air attack. Unknown to the Americans more than 350 Japanese Planes were headed this way from aircraft carriers north of the island, while Japanese midget submarines probed harbor defenses. (you can see this in the model picture of the ship carrying the planes) At 7:55 a.m. the first wave of enemy planes appeared overhead, just as American Sailors and Marines assembled on their vessels to raise the "Stars and Stripes"...attacks continued until 10am that morning with a 15 minute lull time around 8:30. The Japanese settled on what is known as "Battleship Row" which was 7 American battleships lined up against the docks. At about 8:10 am the Arizona was mortally wounded by an armor piercing bomb, which ignited the ship's forward Ammunition magazine. The resulting explosion and fire killed 1,177 crewmen, in 9 minutes... the greatest loss of life on any ship that day and about half the total number of Americans killed.

I hope you have gained more of an insight into this day. If you get a chance to go to Oahu make the time to pay your respects. They bring you out on a ferry boat to the memorial and the silence itself is enough to have you meditating on the events which took place that day.

Sea Turtles.....Duuuuuuuuuuude!!!

Check out this video I made in Hawaii. Rochelle and I went on a submarine which brought us like 115ft underneath the Pacific Ocean. You can still get motion sickness that far below and I think because the oxygen flow in the submarine is not that great. Notice all the fishes swimming by and of course the sea turtle!

Back to Jamaica!

Uh oh I am going to be dangerous now that I have figured out how to post videos to my blog!! Hmm let's go back to my archives..... look what i found... in Jamaica.... it was Gail's birthday so leave it up to me to find a singing bum walking around the outside cafe we were eating at. When she wasn't looking I went over to him and paid him to come over and sing Happy Birthday to her. LOL she thinks I am trying to take a picture of her..watch her pose... lol good times good times.....

Because I care...

You know... I just want to throw this out there because whether it be that this is the most depressing time of year or the weather or you just been down and out on your luck... I would really like to say to talk to someone or know that I'm always down for conversation. Amidst the hustle and bustle of friends and partying I am noticing some good friends walking with their heads down. Let me tell you that I believe the one thing that is always constant is change. Backwards right? Its true though... and yes this is a random blog yet if it helps any one of my friends out to just know that someone gives two shits about their drama... then i'm letting you know. =) I'm always down for anything and i've always had an open mind and I already know I shouldn't have to say this yet sometimes people need to be reassured. Hugs. Surround yourself with positive people, and people who are real. It makes a difference.

Japanese Cuisine

According to Richard, he has a word for Sushi: Bait. And I'm pretty sure there is a large population who would agree with him...
On the other hand... I turn to Sushi as comfort food... most people choose ice cream, chocolate, etc, etc. not me. I appreciate a nice spicy tuna handroll with that real seaweed. You can't knock it until you've tried it... and don't waste your Sushi experience in some no name place or worse in the Ethnic section of Kroger. lol u know what I'm talking about... although Kroger may feel that having Japanese chefs bumps them up to "Signature".

I like Hokkaido... went there with Lil Kim and Rochelle for the first time. I'm more of the Miyako fan yet it gets a lil pricey. Thanks for the invite you two..I realize that I should make more of an effort to use chopsticks. Maybe I'll start off by catching flies...who knows....

Da Dramatics...

Niiiice. Went out with Kiss this weekend. hahahhah Actually Shine had cousins come into town and we hit up that Club Crome on West Alabama.... nice spot good booty music on Saturdays. Ummm that would be 4 shots that night and 4 coronas... must keep a well balanced diet hahahhah geez seriously all these blogs about going out lately.... honestly its to keep me busy... my man is in Hawaii and i'm not trying to sit at home and think about the distance... u know? Thats my justification and I'm sticking to it!
Oh so back to my story.... i rolled up to Crome with Jamuna and Shine and cousins and from the second i walk into the club my phone is going haywire with text messages between the guys I chilled with on Friday night (thats another story) and Jewell who is about to go DJ in Hawaii and wants to know my special requests hahhaha so then it totally looks like i'm not having fun cuz i'm texting and calling while the music is bumping like crazy and everyone is dancing. Freakin electronic leashes those cell phones are! And the guys...they decided to sell me out and go to Epic in downtown instead and are convincing me to come with which i wasn't about to do. Finally i decided to get shots with Shine and his cousins and get a good buzz going only to have a second wave of text messages come through on my phone. lol. turns out they all decided to come down to Crome... yay!!

So we all met up and drank and then socialized..... and then Drama..... lets just say Dullah and I were doing our drinking buddy social skillz and next thing we know there is yelling and our peoples had it in with other peoples... and yah... buzz kill. So Taco Cabana it was.... where I then proceeded to hit up the after hours spot with the freestyle paks hahhah... Harwin and Gessner...Amnesia. Don't ask. just don't. **note to self ** beer served after 2am at the Shell gas station on Harwin and Fondren lol Fun times until 5:30 am two days in a row! yesss..... weekend well spent.

"I've seen you on MySpace"

Have you heard that line before "I've seen you on MySpace"????? hahhaha One of Zishan's friends invited us out to Milan in downtown and she meets me for the first time (or so I thought) and she says that to me! I didn't know how to respond... "um stalker status?" hhahhah kidding. She was a real cool girl and was working the door that night and let us in. So with me...and all the excitiment and sitcom shit that happens to me.... i order a corona...it comes, i push the lime in, i go to drink.....Nothing. so i'm thinking "embarassing, ur lime got stuck in the bottleneck". i look at my bottle...negative...its FROZEN! lol we got a good laugh out of that. I return it get another.... same thing. at this point i decided to stand there it let it thaw out. stay true. lol.

Had fun conversation with Pranav, Nadeem, Zishan, Dullah, Haythem and two guys I never got around to introducing myself to. hahhaha supposedly Cash Money came through...Mannie Fresh... and only Pranav knew that hahahah he was like "Hey!! its mannie!!" hahahhahah

Anyways why the crazy pic of Dullah and his hookah??? 2 reasons...the main one being that wow i actually did not take pics of going out.....and two....cuz we went back to his place and smoked some..correction I didnt because i was really buzzing hard and talking too much but he and Z did. I've tried the apple flavor before ...great stuff! There will be a next time!! hahahha yah we didn't end up leaving Dullah's place until 5am.... taco bell, hookah, and gatorade...crazy combo.... We liked to call this Part 2 of last Friday's adventure....the saga continues.....

Dec 1, 2006

Pretty Bird, Pretty Bird.....

Look what Ernie found!!! heehee.... mind you it was already really cold outside and Ernie comes running in saying he found a parakeet. Turns out this little ferocious creature was walking by his truck. i say ferocious cuz he bit me like 100 times already. Ernie didn't want him though and I couldn't put it back outside so he's my little friend. It could be a she but unless u know how or maybe you want to peek under feathers - i don't want to hear it.
So Ernie says the name is "Big Bird" and Richard says "Rubber Ducky" idiots. I call it Tweety. damn right thats original. Poor birdy was hungry cuz after i bought some bird food he was eating for like half an hour...somebody must have lost it. Finders keepers. hahahha Anyways enjoy the pics of Tweety's adventure around the print shop! =)

Always on Westheimer

"Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before."
It's a funny thing when I panick or I'm caught in a situation.... because everyone knows I'm a bad liar so I don't even try to do it because I get busted everytime. EXCEPT... under the influence and in card games.... all about the poker face.... so how I got out of my little scenario last night I will attribute to the truth.
Went to Fox N Hound on Westheimer to shoot pool with Pranav and Haythem...or watch them play cuz its all about geometry and i failed that miserably lol and we drank and had appetizers. Met some dude who was half Thai and half Cambodian so had an awesome conversation about those countries.
Then 1am rolls around and we decide to leave. I pull out of the parking lot and onto Westheimer known for cops in the whee hours of the night...and I know this...but obviously i'm oblivious to the fact. I get to the red light, I see the car in front of me make a u-turn...so what da hell...i did too. Then I'm driving back towards beltway and the celly starts ringing...which I dropped so here I am looking for the damn thing only to find out it is Haythem who is all "Look in your rear view mirror a cop is pulling you over" LOL oops. I start laughing...my reaction to everything and he's freakin out and I'm like whatever. To me, cops do their job...if i did wrong just hand me the damn ticket and let me be on my way... i'm not about kissing ass to get out of tickets so dont stand there and let the dramatics roll out. maybe thas just me i dunno.
Anyways, cop comes to my window with flashlight in my face and is all "Do you know why i stopped you?" I say "Yah...the car in front of me u-turned on the red and I figured alrighty and I followed." He laughs and says "no." haaaaaaaaaahhaha i'm like "Oh." <---Feeling like a dumbass. and he goes "Because you were swerving everywhere" "Ohhh no cuz my friend called my cell phone to tell me you were following me so i was looking for the phone" He laughs again. "Have you been drinking?" ...Insert Grand Lie Here...."ok where did you come from" "pool hall" <---does not support grand lie. hahhahahha
Needless to say he came back and let me go with a Verbal warning =) whew! So i dunno did i get off for telling the truth or lying?..... interesting.
oh well i can spend $200 as if i had received a ticket!!! awesome. There is an upside to everything!!!
