Man my blogs are entertaining! luv it!! lolz ....

Yah if u know me well, then u know I don't watch tv. For some reason I just can't sit still for an hour... I'll only do it for dvd's or music videos (but then i'm not sitting, i'm shaking my a$$ in the living room lol) and actually I blame the X-files for this. I was soo freakin glued to that show and when it ended I realized I didnt have shii to do on Sunday nights anymore so I gave up on tv.
Anyways, in come da guys who tell me about this sitcom called Heroes that comes on Monday nights. So i figure I will go chill at Zubair's place to watch it cuz Mondays are pretty slow with work.

Supposedly I'm behind but it doesn't really take much to catch up on. The story line and characters really pull you in for some must see tv action. I want to say it is like X-men but what makes it different is that these are ORDINARY people who realize they have these powers so its kind of funny to see them use these powers. And of course their mission is to save the world.

If you are into comics and action it won't take much to sell you on this series, check it out if you have time. Abdullah says he is Hiro - Japanese kid who can stop time. I don't want to be the Las Vegas stripper lolz so i'll stick with the highschool cheerleader Claire who is indestructible. I will appoint Zishan as Mohinder who is a genetics professor on a mission to uncover a secret theory and Zubair will be Matt - the cop who can read minds!

Well looky looky what I found!

Saturday Night ..bringing it back to da old skool... Straight craziness. I really can't define crazy anymore but running into not 1 but 4 people I haven't seen for the last 6 years pretty much tops it off. =) Luv it!

See and most of you know this about me, but every year since highschool up until about 2002 i think... i had a Thanksgiving feast/party at my house...and everyone would catch up with everyone else there..it was like our yearly reunion. I miss those days...we ended up selling our house that's why. But even then throughout the years I kept everyone's number and I would see them all randomly here and there...but those top 4 I have not seen since!

I actually saw Corey at Fox N Hound on Westheimers and he had a couple of drinks with me and I met his girlfriend Angie who was real sweet. Then we headed over to Sherlock's to grab a pitcher with Haythem and the Brits (Guy and Ivan lol). Then after that I had to meet up with my drinking buddies like we do it every weekend...and most weekends between Belvedere, Epic and after hours.... but someone told me Bryan Jimenez was doing something for his birthday! Yay!

So i saw him and Jennifer and he just tripped out when he saw me cuz its been so long!! They had all kinds of crazy bottles there and Pranav was playing bartender but not passing drinks...wussup with that?! I also saw Jay B. and Roger sitting on the couch with Bryan...definately old skool connection. So if you haven't seen them, they are all doing fine.

Corey works at West Houston with Jericho and Bryan is back in town for good and Jay is doing insurance and Roger is pretty much in love..lol he studying nursing actually...so yah back to the in love part...lol. It was lots of fun, sure u can tell from the pics. Man, that's alot of brown. =)

Deep post for the month.....

Saturday was a very productive day for me. I had to buy a new battery for my car (which brought me back to 'fix my car thursday' blog) and get the inspection taken care of. I wish i had the boyfriend to take care of all this car crap for me .... i mean...yay women's rights!! i can do it myself. lol. =)

So after that I went running for 3 miles which turned into 6 miles. I'll blog another day about that whole incident.

Then...finally the point to this blog...I went to church. If i do go, its saturday afternoons....when you don't have to dress up and the crowd is small. lol. Enjoy my reasoning?
The church I grew up with is right there on Westheimer and the Beltway, I'm sure you guys have seen this sign there...every week is a different quote. I happened to like this one =)

See, the cool thing about my church is that they grew with the times. They are not naive to the fact of what is going on in the world as far as sex, money, and drugs. A little strange for a Catholic Church right? I mean the freakin sermon is on a powerpoint presentation (u know I would have taken a picture inside but i couldn't bring myself to do so lol). This is why I enjoy going to this particular Catholic Church.

I'm very open about religion. I mean i took my first communion, even did my confirmation into the Catholic religion. Yet I see the pro's and cons of my religion and even in other religions as well yet I refuse to pass judgement on someone just because we are not on the same page. That's just me.

The funny thing is...since I rarely go to church (although i have many conversations with God in my head) the times that I do go to church...I feel the messages are directed towards me. Never fails, its crazy. So I wanted to share what I heard this Saturday because it has to do with alot of my close friends and their situations as well.

The topic was of course Love. Yess! I was thinking just like you are "oh god, not this crap." hahahha Here's the thing though.... I always say the first 3 months is when the guy does everything he cans and then after that is the "fall off" stage. Well, according to my pastor its more like the first 3 years are the "testing" years. I really would not have paid any attention if he hadn't said "Our whole reason of being and living is to look for love. That is it. and you can turn on the TV and see this for yourself. All the shows are somehow based on finding that right person or looking at other people's relationships. AND if you are not looking for love you have done either 1 of 2 things: 1. Decided to live a lonely life. You have just given up. OR 2. Do everything you can whether it be working yourself to death, drinking (when i tuned in LOL), or sexing away." (yes he said sexing) Ok so did I grab your attention like he grabbed mine?

Let me see if I can deliver this speech as well as he did. Love - combination of three things: Attraction, Desire, and Goodwill. If you notice...most people always say "I fell in love"...what is "fell"...past of the verb "To fall" isn't it? And when has that been a good thing "to fall"???? Its as if your are apologetic!! No one says "I jump in love with you" or "i'm running in love with you" in fact what most people mean is actually very selfish "I love you being in love with me." Lets go back to what love is made up of again : Attraction, Desire, and Goodwill. If you notice, the first two are very selfish characteristics. If you think about it though... u are infatuated with someone because you are attracted to them and you desire to be with them. Its kind of like pool when you make the break. Do the balls know where they are going? No. It's a reaction to a collision. Make Sense?

Ok so is there any hope? Is there any hope for those of us who have been out there and say we are looking for love in all the wrong places...and we carry these bumps, scratches and bruises with us..... yah there is if we start looking at real love differently. What are we leaving out u ask? Goodwill. If you believe in a higher being, then you believe you are put here for a purpose..correct? So if you are put here for a purpose... so is the next guy/girl. right? Ok so follow me on this definition of Love: Love is a decision to unite yourself with God (your supreme being) in caring for another person no matter how you feel. That means...whatever that person feels is their mission in life, you have to care enough to see their missions through because God acts through them. We are all students of life....or disciples if you want to use that term, we are being taught how to love. To me, hell is filled with Spiritual Monsters....these are people who rejected what God wanted for them. This is why there are people called "Saints".... Saints are those who "finished" what God wanted them to do. This may be more geared towards Catholic terminology and for the record, true love in Catholocism is when Jesus said on that cross "Father forgive them for they do not know what they do." He didn't say "to hell with them" although he could have right?

So what do you think? I feel I was a little bit enlightened. I mean I dunno about you ...I've always held the attraction/desire aspects pretty high. Maybe what I thought was goodwill in caring was more of a "desire" to have them "desire" me and not so much about why they were making decisions for their life that were not on the same page as what I wanted. So yah... i'm feel I have a better perspective about the whole topic now. Its a nice feeling and I hope u got something out of reading this otherwise that sux. lolz.

Zimm's Martini Bar

Friday Night...new scene.....

Usually Friday nights meant coming home and watching a dvd and crashing out cuz of a really long week. Yet lately, its just the first day to my weekends =) yay!

So this time I went to meet up with Ivan, Tony, Guy and Haythem at this bar called Zimm's on Montrose. If you never have been there...u probably would think you walked right into a British Pub. It's a very conservative place and the crowd is not your typical meat market - Everyone is still in their business attires and trust me..they know whether they like it shaken or stirred.

Lol, usually I do Heineken or Corona but this wasn't the place to really walk around with a beer bottle. So grey goose and sprite was the choice for the night! yessss... We laughed and talked about the week....I couldn't really tell u if there was eye candy there or not because the lighting in that place was pretty dim....which I guess would mean everyone looked good huh? hahhahah ur mean. Yay to loungin around!!

Mechanical Day

Yah... it was one of those days. Well its kind of like... "i'm so happy i have extra money to spend" and then two seconds later your car breaks down. uh huh, story of my life. I don't usually talk about my car, in fact many of you didn't even know I bought until after the first 3-4 months. Maybe I should have said something cuz i didn't know Lincoln and Ford merged...or that Ford sux!! lolz.

Yah so I believe in being humble and materialist desires causes more suffering to a person than anything else. At the same time, it is nice to spoil yourself once in awhile..everyone knows I'd rather travel so I usually have nothing to show for all this work I do. lol.

So yah it turned out to be a "fix my car" day. Some valve was broken and it kept cutting my car off which was embarassing when you are at a stop light. hahahah I had to play it off like "yah gas prices suck, thats why i turn my car off at the light.." lol.

My point to this blog is that I found a bad-ass mechanic in case you need one. It's called JC's autocare on Westpark. Now i know what your thinking!! Westpark? Ghetto??! Yah well that also happens to be where some of the hardest workers for a buck are from. It's a family shop..they are Puerto Ricans...and I'm gonna dog on Puerto Ricans for a bit..mad luv cuz i have Puerto Rican friends....but u guys have to have your flag either on your shirts, hanging in your car or you are freakin carrying it with you!!! what is up with that?? lol so obviously I walk into this shop and the entire wall has the puerto rican flag on it! hahhahahh!! luv it. They do an awesome job and it is super cheap...mind you i've always used the dealer but even against quotes from other small shops they are cheaper. Oh and if u need to pass that inspection.... ;) u awwready know!!

Time for Stretchy Gloves!

Who has gloves?! I do! I do!!! Dork. Brrrr its gettin pretty chilly up here in Houston. I don't think it would be so bad if there wasn't so much wind and rain but hey lets make it interesting right? heehee....

So i was trying to be a soldier but i just can't do it anymore... I had to buy some gloves. I went to Walgreens to get my puppy food and i saw a whole bunch of these gloves! yay $1.99 can't get better than that....plus their magic. Magic stretch gloves. yups.

I dunno if you can read that but it says "1 size fits all" <--ok i mean isn't it bad enough that society makes us worry about our weight and now I gotta worry about having fat fingers?? what da hell man?!

So is it really magic that the gloves stretch or is it just the fat fingers trying to edge their way through those little knit holes?? u know what "one size fits all" means to me?? It means "All you can eat". yah u see how that intertwines...great.

Oh and what do you do when you don't fit into the "one size fits all" jeans??? shiiiii lolz ok sorry ...wow someone is self conscience =)

Muna's Birthday

Yay so Muna is 28 now... craziness...... we went to Dave & Busters and Cafe Layal to smoke dat hookah! I had two hookahs to myself cuz lucky me..alot of them had never smoked it before.... but on that note they also wasted like 3 of them!! geeez! hahha it was great though and then we went to play games at Dave and Busters. Muna hit the jackpot on most of the games... i hit it one time...i'm so money. lol. yay =) Drink of the night: Vodka and Redbull.... partner in crime.... I would say Shine and Suzanne...they snuck to the bar with me a couple of times ;)

Prince of Darkness

That's right. Prince. I saw him. Don't go acting hardcore like you think Prince is Gay and all this shiii cuz he is a freakin icon. There are only two clubs open on Thursday in Vegas (yah i was surprised as well) and one of them is Club Tryst in the Wynn Hotel.

Let me set the scene.... It is 2am and after hitting up a Lounge for drinks and music me, Dullah, Ernie and Zishan and my cousin Zyra hit up club Tryst. We had tried to get in earlier but it would have been a 3 hour wait cuz it was there anniversary night.

What happened is that we had already dropped crazy cash at the bar and in order to get into Tryst it was $30 for the guys and Z and Ernie were not feeling that. Dullah was lol so he goes in and we decided to sit out in the lounge and people watch. (trust me its probably better than going in the club!)

So as I'm texting on my phone to let Dullah know we are in the lounge, I see this one guy run to the elevators. I think to myself "hmm thats strange" so I keep one eye on him and continue what i'm doing. Then I see two huge ass guys rushing someone towards the elevator but I can't see who. Mind you, I am facing the elevators so I see it open and I see this tall as model woman walk inside and I'm thinking "i don't recognize her but damn she looks like a million dollars." Very strange.

So then everyone gets in the elevator and the two big guys finally move out of the way and BAMN!!! there is Prince!!!! omg! So i'm like "Prince!!!" He looks at me, smiles, and nods and he stares at me EXACTLY like this photo...and you know i'm good about taking pics but my reaction time was sooo slow!!! and as I yelled and waved at him, Ernie and Zishan turn around and say "Oh shit!!" hahahhahahhahh very cool ass moment!

By the way he has a club at the Casino Rio and his symbol is on the entire side of the building. This is the flyer for his club 3121. I tried to go to his concert here at numbers when he came down but no one would go with me lol screw it, next time I will roll up there by myself!

****On a side note... Jul wrote me from bootcamp!! awwwwwwwwwww yay! yay!! yay!!!!

Yups, I brought the New Year in with a flaming 151!! Although I messed up the drink the first time. You're suppose to drop the shot glass into the beer and well..i poured it in lol hey i like mine quick ok!! i did get to redeem myself though....

so yah went to a fun house party with da partners in crime and we actually brought the New Year in pretty quietly for our standards lol. can you believe i didn't have my camera with me. tragedy. but lots of peeps took pictures so I will get them and post them later.

I'm glad I didn't hear the countdown because I hate that part about New Years. u know why? cuz your suppose to have a date right at midnight and for how many years now have i avoided that countdown?? lol pathetic.

On a geek note..... I have mad respect for Dennis Hwang. All of you know him but don't know that you do. He's the guy who designs the google logo. If you ever notice that the logo changes during special Holidays and Events...he's the one who draws it out. I know you saw this one already.....

i love the creativity!! hell i'd love to have that job.... and here's a pic of Dennis... you can thank me for dropping that knowledge on you... Hey...Happy New years!!!
