Elmo Is A BROTHER!!!

Well tickle me red. I didn't know this guy was the voice behind Elmo. I expected a short white bald guy. Meet Mr. Clash. This guy has been all over the world with Elmo and plans to write a book detailing his life events.

"Mr. Clash, a six-foot-tall African-American puppeteer, created that bright-red Muppet monster from “Sesame Street.” You know, the one with the falsetto and constant laugh. Although Mr. Clash, 45, has been Elmo’s constant companion for 20 years, he has not been nearly as identifiable as most celebrities. So a common reaction from some black adults — children ignore him and talk directly to Elmo — is “Elmo is a brother!” Mr. Clash said." I've heard it all now. hahhaha

Frat Parties and Mexicans

Sooooooooo... was invited this weekend to a birthday party of one of the girls who works out at Ballys. She is like in perfect muscle head shape...i believe they call her "Quadzilla" at the gym. lol. Anyhow, we pull up to their house party and low and behold.... that sign right there was their yard sign. haaaaaaaaaaahahhah ummmm lol Rafael and I were like "Are you sure we're invited in?" and i'm here thinking "damn, let's not hide your true feelings already". yah. so not to mention we're the only two mexicans at the party...we walk in and her husband says "hey guys! u like the sign??!" lol. I busted out laughing and said "yah i thought we were at the wrong party." hahha he goes "you guys are american citizens, don't give me that." I just said... "well i hope the guys who mow your lawn are too!" hahahha but he said he already checked that they all had their green card. In his defense, (because i obviously don't agree with the sign but i will get into that later and its not because i'm mexican) he said that an illegal had hit and run his car and he spent many months in the hospital for it. so can you blame that guy? nah. now i will tell you why i don't agree with the sign...because of the word "invasion". The US is a melting pot, it is how this nation was founded. Don't sit there and tell me your parents or your parents parents did not come crawling into this country..because they did. Now do I think the borders should be regulated? Of course. Yet the word invasion is just a little harsh don't you think??? On another note... her husband is part of a frat and let me tell you...we partied down. You guys see that ice block?? It's called a shot block lol and basically they pour the shots right down into your mouth. I've never seen or done it before but patron sure does taste good iced up!! hahahha Yay for frat boys against mexicans. lol

2006 Houston Junior Chamber Gala

Wow, what a night of meeting truly motivated outstanding individuals. If you feel like you have not done anything with your life, this definately was the event to prove just that! lol Basically the Houston Junior Chamber selects 5 individuals out of Houston. I don't think you are comprehending this...there are 5 MILLION people in Houston and only 5 are OUTSTANDING individuals. This means they came through by doing community projects and just being involved with everyday people. I have included the back of the invitation which I created for the event. After the awards ceremony I was able to speak with Ben Mendez (hahha go for the mexican right?) who is actually part of a huge hispanic network for young professionals. He was very impressed with my work and has offered that I join his organization!! How cool is that right? If you have not figured it out..networking is the key to success. I don't care how much you know..it truly is about who you know and what you can do for them and vice versa. So my friends, I am going to take full advantage of this situation. The event was a major success and being among Houston city councilmen and the Houston Mayor just made one feel as though they play an important role in this city's advancement. It's been a long time since I have volunteered for anything in the community and I really believe I need that - not to win awards - yet I think it helps keep a person grounded and focused. One person out of these outstanding 5 will move on to the next round until the very last awards which is the top 5 outstanding individuals in the world! can you believe that? wow. definately an honor.

Formal Dinner

Of course a gala isn't anything without the formal dinner.... we were at table 14 and look at that dessert!! mmmmm yummy chocolate with strawberry and raspberry and white chocolate. Loved it!! I enjoyed the salad and the dessert, the salad was very tasteful with the almonds, mandarins, tomato, cabbage and walnuts. Great stuff. I didn't like the main course dinner which is why it is not pictured. hahahha it was a stuffed chicken on top of baby corn which could have been mistaken for rice. Not really good. Cafe Adobe was the sponsor for the food so I think I expected a little more. Nonetheless, it was a nice dinner reception.

Superman 3D

Bad Ass!!! Seriously, you have got to check this movie out BUT you have to see the 3-D version. Do not miss it!! And can i just say the mannerism of the new superman actor is soooo freakin close to Christopher Reeves. At times you didn't even know you were watching a whole new actor. I'm not going to ruin the end. I just loved this movie. I give it a million stars ******** This movie is well worth it and Kevin Spacey did an awesome job as Lex Luthor. The actress for Lois Lane also did very well. I love 3D and the 3D previews were super cute also. Hey come on...how many times are you gonna have a fine guy all up in your face and get to reach out to him hahahhahah go watch it 3D!!!!

RIP Little One

Awww little Eddie from Frazier has died. 16 years old and a cute Jack Russell Terrier. You ever see him eyeball Frazier? hahahhahahha he was supa cute. =)

Today

"Sana, sana, colita de rana. Si no sanas hoy sanars manana. "
This rhyme, sung to children when they hurt themselves
or are not feeling well, reassures kids that if they don't feel better today,
they'll feel better tomorrow.

Aloha!

The Event: Island Hopping
The Location: Hawaii
Those involved: Rochelle and Irene
Proposed Damage: To Early to say
The Duration: October6th-15th
The Year: 2006

Your mission should you chose to accept: Warn the natives.

Yes indeed folks. change of plans. Hong Kong is out of the picture...and honestly after seeing "shit" actually being sold in Thailand I think I've had enough Asian Culture shock. (Don't leave me hate comments because I got pictures to prove it!) So now we're going to the beautiful islands of Hawaii and we get to island hop! It's cheap too like $100 round trip from one island to the next. I know I know another trip but hey I'm young and I'm going to travel as much as I can and see as much as possible. Those of you who have travelled understand me completely. Those of you who have not...why are you living to work??? So along with the plane trip we will also take a ferry trip when we get to Maui as u can see in the map and take it to the two islands Molokai and Lanai. Here is some of the stuff we will be doing: spa day, drinking on the beach, swimming with dolphins, looking at volcanoes (actual flowing lava and one huge crater), going hiking, checking out the waterfalls, checking out the lushes rainforests, museums, watching da hula dancers, looking at the coral reef and definately taking tons of pictures. yay! we're excited.... oh oh and one more thing.... both of our goals is to take a nice picture on the beach in a nice bathing suit to post on our blogs. wow. lol yah that definately is a miracle huh? So far i have not lost weight but I've lost inches which means i'm toning =) so far so good...... i'll let you guys be the judge when the time comes =) yay hawaii!!! at least we're not going to somoa ok...hahha we'd already fit in. hahhaha ur mean.

OUCH

Awww. yes we have a little booboo. Zero (the mini doberman i am dogsitting) decided to make a chew toy out of my camera plug connection - which translated to "dammit i can't upload any pics!" yah. So folks until I find another plug you are going to have to put up with me stealing images of the internet. So what did you do this weekend? I went around looking for apartments for my brother. That really has to be one of the most mind draining events..such as your future landlord being the nicest they will ever be to you and the complex looking better than it really is. Wouldn't you agree? Like have you ever lived in some shitty ass apartments and seen the office people showing "prospective" tenants around...and haven't you felt like telling those people
"man don't even think about renting here" but you want to say it to where the office person doesn't hear you of course so instead your making faces and slicing your throat or throwing any signal you can to let those people know not to rent there...... maybe thats just me. i dunno. hahha but yah you really get what you pay for in houston. so i get first class service hahahhah riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight u know what i really want to pick a bone about.....trash day and the damn laundrymats. like if trash day is the next morning WHY DA HELL can i not put it out the night before? why does it have to be in between certain hours? who da hell cares, i pay rent, pick up my trash on trash day and go on with your life. and really i hope you do have your own washer and dryer in your apartment cuz you don't have to deal with stupid machines which get stuck when you press that quarter slot thing in and you have clothes sitting with detergent in there but now you gotta put them in another washer cuz this one just jammed...then you gotta find 4 more damn quarters which is too much to begin with and hope this other machine doesn't jam on you. yah. or better yet...while walking down to the laundramat god forbid you drop one of your damn underwears or socks going down the stairs and you see it when walking back but someone else is walking the opposite direction so you act like that shit ain't yours. hahahhhha great. ok i'm done griping about apartments. my point today was to say i don't have a camera plug to upload any pics hahahha at least I made a point.

When War Hits Home

The Screaming Eagle. Let me tell you, if the eagle is not screaming, my family sure is... If you have been following the news you should be familiar with the recent events with the deaths of Iraqi civilians seen here
I have plenty family members involved in the Navy, Army and Marines and I also know of the politics involved with such governmental powers and privilages. As you read in that article, three members of the 101 airborne have been charged with murder. This was yesterday. Today my family gets a phone call that My cousin Louie who is a member of the 101 airborne has been court marshalled in accordance with the investigation. No one can really say anything because you were not there during the incident - all you know is the personality which left the family in the first place to join this national organization. I hope the truth comes forth and I hope he is not involved in the accusation. I am proud of those who serve our country and at the same time it really is a shame they have to experience the trauma that comes along with the job. They are the reason why you and I can sit here and not worry about our safety while they constantly worry about theirs.

Da Workout Regime

Red Bull. Exactly what I need at 6:30 AM to get up and go to the gym. I'm not a morning person at all...only on the weekends just because i love to enjoy my weekends. On any other day i need that fixing right there. Da bull. Man that stuff has a crazy kick...i get the sugar free one though because I'm not down with sugar like that. So anyways, my workout regime is up and running once again. Working out three times a week in the morning and also during lunch time at the Bally's in Sharpstown. Yah ghetto ass Bally's...i may get more of a workout running to save my life. Plus I have my boxing class which kicks my ass tuesdays and saturdays. Anyways I'm on a mission and that is to reach my milestone of 150 pounds. No shame in my game...if age is just a number, so is weight. (U think differently about that now right?) hahahha the lowest i have been is 160 ..keyword been....right now i'm at 175 and working downwards. I dont want to get super skinny, I just want to buy nice clothes. is that too much to ask??? People put their pants on one leg at a time...I want to be the skinny biatch who just jumps into her pants. riiiiiight. so that's the plan and i'll update you on how that goes. And for the record..let's keep it real...you don't reach your goal in one week..this stuff takes time. I think in two-three months I will reach my goal. The fastest thing I've ever reached was the fork on the table so I need to have patience. Work it! =) I just haven't had any motivation...let me tell you what my motivation is.... gas prices. Thas right. I don't want to drive da gator tank around anymore, I want to drive a motorcycle. You can't be a hog on a bike, just not right. I already have the Honda motorcycle, I just need to take the class and then get the license. Yah me on a bike...fun times...hahhah wanna ride???

The Hippie MIllionaire

Thas right. All you weed smokers..... i'm talkin about your parents too.....listen up.... hhahahah ok actually u know who is to blame for this recent experience i had??? Pepsi. That's right. Let me tell you where NOT to buy a Pepsi. Corner of 59 and Harwin that's where. I'm on a health kick and I'm thirsty and I don't feel like water so I think to myself..."some diet soda". I happen to see diet pepsi at the Philipps 66 station owned by Abu himself who sells me this can of soda for 65 cents. I think, i dont remember. what i DO remember is being so damn thirsty, poppping open the can and hearing the fsssss and gulping it down. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. freakin nasty ass shit!!! no no no and its not because it was diet ok?! I will tell you why, because my next reaction besides bitter beer face on a damn cola is to check the expiration date. That's right my friends, sodas expires too. So underneath this can i see May 5th '05...... helllooooo '05???? what da hell. So i go back inside and now i'm the complaining customer right? right. Mr. Abu here says "u go pick 'nother one" and brings me back to diet pesi area. ok buddy your whole shipment is expired. i tell him "no they are all old" so he points me to diet coke as he says "oh here, here this is fresh new shipment". kill me now. anyways got a new diet coke. great problem solved...but not really.

So hours later after the whole workday and working out...i'm thirsty again. I go to the Shell on Kirby but by this time it is late at night...like 10 or 11. So i know you have all been through this...you can't go into the gas station store instead you yell at the cashier to go get you what you want as they try to stuff it through that stupid hole they call a drawer. So much for chips. yah. SO besides not feeling safe all of a sudden since i'm in the street locked out of the damn store here comes a guy from behind me..oh not just any guy....ur typical hippie man. So i make my order of "can u grab that sandwhich right there and those chips right there and I need a bottle water" and off she goes while i wait and hold up an increasing line of people just wanting to pay gas. Guy behind me says "late night snack?" i say "not really, its for my dad" (which was true) and i say "but i'm getting water since i got an expired PEPSI today". EEERRRRK. brakes on. wrong thing to say to Hippie Man. He said "what?? an expired PEPSI?? that is a rich company right there" i say "yes it is..they own pizza hut, KFC, and other stuff and i can't get a descent soda." Hippie Man says "Those Capitalistic Pigs!! See man, I hate that man. See man I am free, I'm a cool guy I dont ask for much. These pigs, they want your money and all these things but what do we the little people get?" LOL i felt like i was on that 70's show. then he says "See that's what i try to teach my son. be free man, don't join this capitalistic lifestyle of a world." "uh-huh" <--me. and he says "man my father made his first million at 23 and back in those days that is alot of cash man." "uh-huh"<--me again. He says "man i'm a millionaire already too man but i dont need to show off stuff like that man. just live free." EEERK!! brakes again! Did he just say he was a millionaire? ok and to make matters worse the lady brings me all my stuff and i have to pay at this point where it was getting so interesting. I had to say goodnight to hippie man and I walked away. I walked away from a million dollar hippie ya'll. That's it, I'm selling weed. hahhahahahah

Ohhhh the magic of Hong Kong.... anyone been there?? Well I will be going there in October along with Rochelle yay!! See there is a catch to all of this. everyone knows i like to travel, the problem is i hate traveling alone. My last trip to singapore was adventurous but you need someone to share it with. sooo Rochelle who is an avid fan of anime has been a longtime friend since high school. Lately she hasnt been in the singles pool because of self esteem which I totally know because I'm right there with her. So my proposition? She loses 30 pounds, I will pay for her trip with me to Hong Kong. "What!!????" <-- you yell at your computer. Let me break this down for you.... Rochelle will lose the weight and at the same time knockout all the major health problems she has been having and at the same time I get to lose weight and get a travel buddy. Yay, problem solved. hehehhe life is too short and we are going to enjoy it dammit. and take alot of pictures which we all know I love to do =) By the time we get there in october it will be the chinese mid-autumn festival where all the lanterns will be lit up in the streets of hong kong. nice huh? the catch? we are losing weight to eat hahahhaha all about the asian food!!!!
